In the presidential elections held today at the TRNC, all the votes cast in 738 polls were counted and inconclusive results were announced. None of the 11 candidates obtained more than half of the valid votes, leaving the election for the second round to be held next Sunday.
The UBP candidate, Ersin Tatar, and the independent candidate Mustafa Akıncı, will compete in the second round of the elections to be held on Sunday, October 18.
115,806 of 198,957 voters voted on 738 ballots and the turnout rate was 58.21 percent.
Of the 115,806 voters who did vote, 110,779 votes were considered valid and 5,277 invalid.
According to data from the website where the YSK announced the elections, the voting rates of the candidates and the number of votes they received are as follows:
