PRIZES IN THE BOX

Böcek’s speech delivered at the festival last year was also featured at the ceremony. The prizes were not handed out hand in hand due to the pandemic, and the artists themselves received the prizes that the officials brought in the box.

Speaking at the award ceremony hosted by Şevval Sam and Yekta Kopan, Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Cansel Tuncer stated that they held the festival, which returned to its essence last year, under the shadow of the corona virus this year.

Claiming that they made changes to the festival due to circumstances, Tuncer said, “The screenings took place in Yıldızların Altın. For a week, the heart of cinema beat in Antalya. I congratulate those who will receive the awards today, wishing you a Happy Golden Orange Anniversary. I conclude with the words of our president Muhittin Böcek ”.

“WE HAVE HARD DAYS”

Mehmet Hacıarifoğlu, deputy mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, said that all is well together.

Hacıarifoğlu said that they have had a difficult time since the first day of the festival, saying: “We try not to extinguish the one-year expectation of the artist, whether it is the festival or not. We thank our mayor, Böcek, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for bringing the festival back to its essence and bringing it closer to the public. We will have a museum. I hope that our president Muhittin Böcek of the 58th Antalya Film Festival will give good news about what happened at the opening of the festival, ”he said.

“WE WERE NOT TOO DIFFICULT”

The president of the jury of the National Feature Film Competition, Ercan Kesal, declared that all films are made from time. By stating that good movies ignite a person’s heart and burn clips, Kesal said;

* We participated as a jury in the 57th festival. Juries are subjective. Most of them are there for the first time. Our jury was ready. I think we developed a common concept before these movies.

* During the awards, the word courage was important and we wanted to defend courage. We wanted the movies we flagged to be everyone’s next work that’s been talked about, asked about, and received awards.

* We didn’t have much difficulty, not even difficulty. We make the decisions unanimously. We gave it calmly, unanimously. Cinema was a laborious thing created with a lot of work. It’s not the end of the world for my non-award-winning friends. They will continue to make good movies to make the world meaningful with film and to light sparks.
