Born in the family vineyard house in Keçiören, Ankara, as the fourth and last child of Vehbi Koç and Sadberk Koç after Semahat Arsel, Rahmi M. Koç and Sevgi Gönül, Kıraç completed his primary education at the primary school of the Turkish Education Association in Ankara.
Kıraç, who entered Istanbul’s Arnavutköy American College for Girls in 1952, decided to go to the United States in her final year to study business and finance and received a positive response from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania.

After the establishment of Koç Holding in 1963, he became one of the five members of the first Board of Directors of the holding company together with Vehbi Koç, Rahmi M. Koç, Bernar Nahum and Hulki Alisbah.
In 1965, he was appointed general secretary of the holding company and held this position for five years.
Suna Kıraç, married to İnan Kıraç, CEO of Otoyol, one of Koç Holding’s companies, in December 1967, joined the Executive Committee of Koç Holding, which was formed under the chairmanship of Rahmi M. Koç together with İsak of Eskinazis, Bernar Nahum and Ziya Bengü. .
In 1970, Kıraç assumed the position of vice president of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Affairs of Koç Holding, and after becoming manager of human resources of the Holding in 1974, he tried to set standards for the group companies in terms of promotion and merit and strengthen the corporate identity of the group.
Kıraç, who was appointed Vice Chairman of the Koç Holding Board of Directors in 1980, made important decisions during the transition from assembly to mainstream industry. In 1994, he assumed the presidency of the Board of Directors of Arçelik A.Ş., one of the leading companies of Koç Holding.
