The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul completed the day at 1,395.40 points, gaining 0.49 percent, the highest close of all time, and posted the record level with 1,399.86 points.
While the BIST 100 index increased 6.85 points compared to the previous close, the total volume of transactions was 31 billion lira.
The banking index gained 0.47 percent, while the holding index fell 0.89 percent. Among the indices of the sector, forest, paper, printing became the highest gain with 3.26 percent, and the SME industry was the one that lost the most with 1.75 percent.
Noting that despite the introduction of the COVID-19 vaccine, the growing number of cases increased the perception of risk, analysts said that equity markets followed a mixed course with the possibility of additional restrictions in some countries.
Analysts say that if the BIST 100 index remains above the 1,390 level, 1,440 points will stand out as resistance and 1,320 points as support
