Studies have been found to link coronavirus deaths and vitamin D deficiency, but it is too early to speak for sure.
As the coronavirus continues to die worldwide, a remarkable link has been established between deaths from the virus and vitamin D.
Scientists around the world have been working on treating the new type of Corona virus, which has been transmitted to more than 3 million people since December 2019. As these studies on virus treatment continue, researchers at the University of East Anglia in Britain have reported a dramatic improvement in virus-related death rates.
Speaking of the study findings at the University of Norwich, Britain, Webtekno says there is a link between low vitamin D levels in Europe and Covid-19 death rates. At this point, the team thinks that the most vulnerable group against Covid-19 is people who are deficient in vitamin D.
“EARLY TO SPEAK EXACT”
Throughout the study, vitamin D levels among citizens of 20 different countries in Europe were compared to death rates from the Corona virus and a strong relationship was found between the two. However, the researchers say it is too early to say that increasing vitamin D levels reduces the death rate of the virus, stressing that the correlation does not mean causation.
In other words, it can be said too soon to recommend vitamin supplements for health professionals or individuals. However, previous research has shown that elevated vitamin D levels can decrease other common risks of respiratory infections, such as the flu and tuberculosis.
REQUEST FOR INCREASED DYC VITAMINS
During the epidemic, the demand for vitamin C and D supplements has increased considerably. Analysts, who are investigating what can cause this increase, think that people can see limited sunlight in their homes during quarantine days, so they cannot get enough vitamin D and fill this deficiency through supplements.
At this point, the UK National Health Service (NHS) recommends that people take 10 micrograms of vitamin D daily from its official website. The reason for this, as we mentioned earlier, is that people cannot get enough vitamin D from sunlight during these quarantine days when they close their homes.
