President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year of Higher Education 2020-2021 held at the National Center for Culture and Congress in Beştepe.
The highlights of Erdogan’s statements are as follows:
“Experience in distance education is important, but it is clear that it cannot replace formal education. Our goal is to start face-to-face education in higher education as soon as possible, as well as in other educational and training levels. Our universities have started targeting different fields according to need rather than providing a top-notch education. We see that among the universities established after 2006, there are those that managed to be among the 800 best in the world.
YÖK ANATOLIAN PROJECT
The YÖK Anatolian project aims to make up for shortcomings by matching up developing Anatolian universities with more developed universities. We are implementing this program beginning in the second semester of this academic year. With the YÖK Virtual Laboratory Project, general physics and chemistry laboratory courses will be taught in a virtual environment.
“ WE MUST BE HUMAN BREEDING, NOT ROBOT ”
The generation that is equipped only with material knowledge and devoid of spiritual values becomes our greatest disaster as a nation. We want to form generations that will claim the wealth of the bridge we built on horseback. Man is a whole with his material accumulation and spiritual wealth. We should be after raising human beings instead of robots. I think we have serious deficiencies in this regard both in the context of family and school education. After a long struggle for democracy in the Republic of Turkey, he reached the place that he is today. The Presidential Government System is the largest administrative reform that we have implemented. The judiciary serves the establishment of justice with all its elements, from the courts of first instance to its superior organs.
“ SHOULD WE GO? ”
They are telling us ‘Don’t spread the word so much’. There is cruelty. There is persecution in Libya, we cannot be silent. There is persecution in Syria. Are we silent? In Somalia … There is persecution of Armenians in Azerbaijan. Shall we sail? We can not stop. Throughout history, there is a responsibility brought to us by our ancestors. We would endeavor to stand still and do our duty there.
” THE ELECTIONS WILL BE IN JUNE 2023 ”
We will leave the enthusiasm of those who try to gather the power that they cannot obtain from the nation elsewhere in their crops. They come out ‘Early Choice …’ What early choice? These are the work of the tribal states. The election in 3 months is the task of the tribal states. You cannot see such a thing in a developed developing country. You will see it in America in the West. It will take place in June 2023. The new team cannot take the lead in Turkey. ”
