The reduced-time work allowance application, which was put into effect by the government to relieve employers after the epidemic occurred last year, ended on March 31, 2021. After the short-term work allowance ended, the first “leave without pay” decisions came from the aviation industry.

According to the turizmgazetesi.com report, Onur Air took all of its staff on leave without pay.

In the letter that Onur Air sent to the staff with the signature of General Manager Teoman Tosun, it was said that the company was financially shaken. On April 15, it was announced that a new assessment of the situation will be carried out and the developments will be shared with employees.

It was said that the necessary support would be provided to staff to benefit from the unpaid leave allowance.

According to the Airporthaber.com report, the employees of Turkish Airlines’ catering company Do & Co took leave without pay.

It was indicated that Do & Co employees, who are on indefinite unpaid leave, will receive 44 lire and 15 cents per day.

Employers are expected to take on hundreds of thousands of employees on leave without pay due to the termination of the application and the continued ban on firing.
