Mehmet Ali Çayıroğlu, the delicatessen operator in Ordu’s Akkuş district, was caught and detained after 2 separate incidents of extortion in 2018.
Çayıroğlu, who was found to be linked to the deaths of 12 people in Ordu and Samsun, was arrested in the investigation.
THE FIRST MURDER IS COMMITTED IN 2018
As a result of the expanded studies, it was determined that Mehmet Ali Çayıroğlu was released from prison on January 19, 2018 and committed the first murder on February 10, 2018. CLAIM RELATED TO 8 ACCEPTED MURDERS
The Ünye Prosecutor General’s Office also prepared an indictment against Mehmet Ali Çayıroğlu, demanding 8 times aggravated life and up to 60 years in prison for the crimes of ‘murder by intentional torture by causing fire’, ‘extortion’ and ‘looting’.
The indictment prepared for 8 murders, all committed in 2018, was accepted by the Ünye High Criminal Court.
CAPTURED TO CORONA, COULD NOT PARTICIPATE
The first hearing in the case was held today at the Ünye High Criminal Court. The president of the court stated that Çayıroğlu was caught with the corona virus and quarantined in the Elazığ T type closed prison, where he was detained, so he was unable to attend the hearing. Then the hearing was postponed.
MURDER SUBJECT TO THE CASE …
February 24, 2018: The Nuri-Lütfiye Usluoğlu couple burned themselves in their homes at midnight in Yüceler Mahallesi in the Ünye district of Ordu. Earlier telephone conversations emerged between Çayıroğlu and the couple.
July 13, 2018: Hasan Bayram died in the town of Üçyol de Ordu as a result of gas poisoning at his home. Some of Bayram’s personal belongings were found in Çayıroğlu’s home.
July 22, 2018: Sabri Güneş, her son Hasan Güneş and daughter-in-law Zahide Güneş lost their lives in the house fire that broke out at night in the Ortabölme district of the Akkuş district of Ordu. It turned out that Sabri Güneş and Mehmet Ali Çayıroğlu had previously met for shopping.
July 31, 2018: In the Karaçal district of the Akkuş district of Ordu, the Senai couple and Ümit Türedi were poisoned by a gas leak from the kitchen pipe. A mobile phone and blank gun belonging to the deceased couple were seized at the home of Mehmet Ali Çayıroğlu.
ONGOING INVESTIGATIONS
Sevim Semiz (80), his disabled daughters Emine Semiz (50) and Havva Gülen (60) lost their lives in the fire that broke out on February 10, 2018 in the village of Özyurt, in the Terme district of Samsun. The investigation is carried out by the Public Ministry of Terme.
The investigation into the murder of Şeker Köseoğlu, whose body was found in a creek bed in the forest a week after his disappearance and who lives in the Doğyolu district of the Akkuş district of Ordu, is still being carried out by the Akkus Prosecutor’s Office due to the inability to determine the exact criminal tool used in the murder.
