Seized at Istanbul airport: value of TL 13 million

The Customs Control teams took action after the plane carrying the passenger considered at risk as a result of the analysis carried out in the first operation organized by the Customs Control teams affiliated with the Ministry of Commerce, landed at Istanbul airport.

When the suspect passenger’s luggage was unloaded from the plane, the luggage was scanned first with an X-ray scanner.

A search was conducted with narcotics-sniffing dogs when a suspicious density was found here. As a result of the reaction of the dogs to the suitcases, it was determined that there were tropical fruits in the open suitcases.

When the outer surfaces of these fruits were cut, it was found that there was a foreign substance hidden in the capsule within them. The sample taken of this substance turned out to be heroin in the analysis carried out with a drug and chemical detection device.

A total of 2.2 kilograms of heroin worth around one million lira were seized, hidden in 67 capsules.

8 MILLION DRUG LYRE IN LUGGAGE

The Intelligence Directorate of Smuggling and Customs Control, carried out by suspects who bring other people in an operation resulting from the risk analysis carried out in Turkey, were followed by Drug Customs Control teams.

After the suspicious luggage was evacuated from the plane, both the X-ray machine and the narcotics detector were searched with dogs.

After the check, the bags that were thought to be drugs were sent to the passenger lounge and the suspected passenger was expected to receive his luggage for the operation.

However, the guarded passenger wanted to leave the airport without taking his luggage. Immediately afterwards, both the clothes and the suitcases of the suspects who were detained by the Customs teams were searched.

A total of 57 kilograms of cannabis drugs were seized from the suspect’s suitcases, hidden under textile items. The approximate market value of the seized drugs was determined to be 4 million 500 thousand lire.

In the third operation of foreign nationals who want to put Turkey on a total of 96 kilograms of cannabis by hiding in luggage, people were followed.

As a result of the control, the suspect was caught and detained with drugs worth about 8 million lire hidden in his luggage.
