MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli announced that he launched a ‘hanging bread’ campaign in response to rising bread prices.
Bahçeli’s campaign was interpreted by opposition parties as an indicator of the slowdown in the economy.
CHP member Faik Öztrak said: “The palace alliance made our nation need a piece of bread. DEVA Party leader Ali Babacan said: “They started a project called hanging bread. Are you never ashamed of what this is doing? “If you suspend justice, human rights and democracy in a country, you will have to suspend that bread.”
MHP Vice President Semih Yalçın reacted harshly to those who criticized the “hanging bread” project with his statement on his social media account Twitter.
Yalçın stated that it should not be inferred from the ‘hanging bread’ campaign that the economy is in a quagmire and that the nation is in poverty, and shared the following:
“The hanging bread campaign started by our president, Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, touched the stomachs of some people without liver. Those who turn our vaccine to stone, those who contribute a piece to our table, those who chop the chaos for our peace are working. How much people who eat haram and vomit poison know the value of the halal bite! Don’t be ashamed of how to feel the taste and fidelity of meeting people’s needs without unwinding them!
Hanging bread is a reflection of the centuries-old tradition of solidarity of our noble ancestors. Helping without hurting is a huge manifestation of the tact of sharing without hurting.
Adding politics to the hanging pan and inventing artificial agendas from it; it means pouring dirt on the nation’s food, spreading poison on its bread, and polluting its table. Retreat from the suspended bread campaign those who conclude that the economy is in a rut and the nation is in poverty! Do not contaminate with your hands the high values of our national culture. “
