It was claimed that İbrahim Çolak, owner of the İhtiyar publishing house, who is one of the writers about whom harassment allegations were posted on social media, ended his life.

Çolak was charged with harassment in social media posts. Çolak shared the following message from his Twitter account last night:

“I hadn’t prepared myself for that ending. I wish to be a good person, I couldn’t make it. I could write for hours, days, but that doesn’t bring anything back. After this time, I cannot look at my wife, my children, my friends. No one is entirely guilty, but I am very sorry that I did not keep the motto “let’s do what is good for us” for others. I say goodbye to all my friends who love and care for me, my wife and my children who suffer especially from my pain ”.

Çolak was said to have been unable to be reached after sharing and may have ended his life.

İsmail Kılıçarslan, a writer for the Yeni Şafak newspaper, who confirmed the allegations, said in his Twitter post: “İbrahim Çolak ended his life by committing suicide. I don’t know what to say, what to write. The only thing I know is that suicide is not a solution and an appropriate ending under any circumstances… I am very sorry ”.
