Şebnem Köseoğlu, professor at Alanya Hamdullah Emin Paşa University (AHEP), Department of Tourism Management, contracted leukemia in September 2018.
After about 3 months of chemotherapy, Köseoğlu, who beat the disease in January, learned that his disease had reappeared during his routine check-ups in May 2019.
In November 2019, a suitable bone marrow was found for Köseoğlu, who was being treated at a hospital in Istanbul. On December 11, he underwent a bone marrow transplant, but when he went for his routine check-ups on April 18 of this year, he learned that his disease had relapsed again.
LOST HIS LIFE
Şebnem Köseoğlu, who learned that her illness had relapsed a day before her birthday, was treated again at the Istanbul hospital. Köseoğlu, who was being treated here, was taken to the intensive care unit a week ago as his condition worsened. Köseoğlu passed away tonight despite all the intervention of the doctors.
HE WAS KNOWN AS “MASKED ŞEBNEM” ON SOCIAL MEDIA
The funeral of Köseoğlu, who battled leukemia and known as the ‘Masked Ebnem’ on social media, is expected to be buried in his hometown Alanya on Wednesday.
Şebnem Köseoğlu, who waged the war against the disease and known as the ‘masked ebnem’ on social media, shared the following statements in his post after his illness relapsed for the third time;
* I would like to give great news, but unfortunately, as a result of some tests carried out since yesterday, we received the news that the disease had relapsed. Marrow transplantation is not always a 100 percent solution.
* In the words of a close friend, wrestling was not enough. I’m so sorry this time, I’m tired. While everything was going so well, this latest development surprised me.
* I know my back is too tight, we are too strong; but this time they caught me very off guard. Normally yesterday I went back to Alanya.
* For the first time in my life, I had not spoken about something so that the evil eye would not touch. In fact, this is how I agreed with my doctor before the transplant.
“MY WORLD HAS BEEN A HOLIDAY”
Stating that he had a birthday a day later, Köseoğlu gave the following statements:
* I would go to Alanya on April 15, I would take a photo in front of the screen that told my birthday at school on April 16, and it would happen on April 17, my birthday in Alanya.
* So I said I would go back if I had to go back, but I had a permanent permit to go to Alanya. Socializing would still be forbidden, but it’s okay. As I re-planned life scoffed at the crown and I thought it wasn’t happening, but instead I encountered a relapse.
* Yes, there is a problem that shook the world, I know it is going to spoil but I am always glad that I was sad for the first time. I resisted all this time, always dreaming of today.
* Thank my God, millions. My treatment was going well, everything was fine. I know it was a bit ungrateful to whine under these circumstances. With the news of the relapse now, my world has been destroyed, but luckily there are people who make it beautiful.
THIS IS MY LAST SHARE
Köseoğlu gave the following information about his situation in his last post on social media;
* I have had difficult treatment for a long time. My reactions now surrounded and shook my body, body and organs. There are also stages where I live with a chair and go to the bathroom when I fall, and there are stages where I’m completely healthy …
* While we were making lung balls like boomerang toys, now we have a hard time with my lungs, but we fix them. For example, my nails started to fall off. Really heavy things come and go.
* My liver problems and jaundice are very troublesome. But above all we are waiting for it? My treatment, in which blood is drawn, medicated with photopheresis and returned to me, is progressing as it should.
* My pain patch is stuck to my side. But in every need, my doctors, nurses, porters, in short, all my health personnel, and even my family, almost as specialized as the health personnel, do not leave my hand 24/7.
* In summary, we are in a process in which we do not know what happens to us or what happens. But we try to color everything as a family.
* But I always need your prayers, the colors of the rainbow you send. You know I never say no to surprise gifts. As I said from the beginning, the smallest person who says ay ay can erase me.
