In a poll published a day before the first live-broadcast debate by US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Joe Biden, Biden was found to be just 2 percent ahead of Trump, while Trump was closing in on his rival.
In a poll conducted by the Harvard American Center for Political Studies (CAPS) and Harris’ news website “The Hill” from September 22-24, it is noteworthy that Trump closed the gap with his opponent prior to discussions of live broadcast to be held tomorrow night.
While 47 percent of voters said they would vote for Democratic candidate Joe Biden, 45 percent said they would vote for Trump. 8 percent of the voters who participated in the poll abstained.
Compared to the poll released by the same organizations in August, Trump won 3 percent of the vote, while Biden lost 2 percent.
Additionally, 52 percent of voters who abstained emphasized that they were closer to voting for Biden, and 48 percent emphasized that they were closer to Trump.
“The survey shows that the president has made progress in the economy as Trump narrowed the gap to two percent with Biden,” Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll director Mark Penn said in a statement. Commented.
