The driver of the light commercial vehicle, which capsized in Istanbul Sancaktepe, paid the price for not wearing the seat belt with his life.
The accident took place on Atatürk Street around 05:30 in the morning. The light commercial vehicle used by Erdoğan Çuhalı (56) first struck the central median after its driver lost control of the steering wheel for an unknown reason and then rolled over and leaned over.

The driver, apparently without a seatbelt, was trapped under the vehicle that veered about fifty meters. Following the warning, fire, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. In the examination of the health equipment, it was determined that the driver lost his life. The lifeless body of Erdoğan Çuhalı was removed from the place where he was trapped by firefighters.
The lifeless body of Çuhalı Sancaktepe Martyr Prof. Dr. İlhami Varank Research and Training Hospital was taken to the morgue. While police teams took safety measures on the road, crime scene investigation teams also worked at the crash site.

Bünyamin Çetin, who saw the accident, said: “I went down the stairs to talk on the phone. This vehicle took a turn or two in the alleys at the end of the road. Then it went to the side street and turned here. I was looking at the phone. I heard the voice, the car crawled a bit. It was normally going down the side streets, it sped up a bit when it hit the road, “he said.
