Meral Akşener, Chairman of the Good Party, evaluated Özdağ’s expulsion petitions sent by party organizations following Özdağ’s “FETOist” accusations about Istanbul Provincial President Buğra Kavuncu and referred Özdağ to the Disciplinary Board.
Following this development, the Joint Disciplinary Board, consisting of the Central Disciplinary Board (MDK) and the Parliamentary Disciplinary Board, met and discussed the file on Özdağ.
By deciding to take the defense of Özdağ’s accusations and statements, the Board notified Özdağ of this decision.
According to the regulation, Özdağ may respond in writing or orally, or both in writing and orally, within 7 days after receiving the notification.
The board will meet again according to the defense and make a decision on Özdağ.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Kavuncu filed a criminal complaint against Özdağ after Özdağ’s allegations that Istanbul Provincial President Kavuncu was a “member of FETO” on a television program he attended.
Later, the party organizations sent their petitions claiming that Özdağ’s statements were unrealistic and defamatory, and called for Özdağ to be expelled from the party.
President Akşener, on the other hand, evaluated the requests and requests of the organizations and decided to refer Özdağ to the Disciplinary Council.
Özdağ said in a statement: “The disciplinary process carried out against me is not a legal process that proceeds in accordance with the Disciplinary Rules of the Good Party, it has been developed in accordance with the principles of ‘political lynching in the wild west’ within the framework of the political campaign and this is not acceptable. ” He made the explanation.
Ümit Özdağ claimed that the issue that caused him to be referred to the discipline was “the request from the Istanbul provincial president to clarify the issue from the vice president of an NGO founded by FETO in Kazakhstan in a television program he attended.”
