The mayor of the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, Muhittin Böcek, was treated in a private hospital after the coronavirus test result came back positive on August 17. As his condition worsened, Böcek was admitted to intensive care on September 7. After coronavirus treatment, Mayor Böcek, who was put to sleep due to asthma and a ruptured lung, was recently referred to Akdeniz University Hospital at the request of Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.
The intubation process was completed shortly before this referral and a tracheostomy was performed to allow President Böcek to breathe better due to respiratory muscle discomfort. Mayor Böcek’s clinical course, who is currently being treated in the intensive care unit of Akdeniz University Hospital, continues steadily.
In the statement made on the state of health of President Böcek from the chief physician of the University of Akdeniz, the following statements were made:
“Our mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality of Antalya, Sr. continues to monitor and treat Muhittin Böcek in intensive care. No negative process has been experienced in the last 24 hours and the clinical course is stable. “
