Drug test kits began to be used with technical devices at traffic inspections in Istanbul. 8 people who were determined to drive under the influence were fined and had their driver’s license withdrawn for 5 years.
Teams from the Istanbul Traffic Inspection Branch Directorate carried out an inspection of “driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs” in the city from 16 to 17 October.
At the inspection, 259 people had their driving license temporarily withdrawn to drive with alcohol above 0.50 and 174 vehicles were banned from traffic.
In addition, technical equipment and drug test kits began to be used in the inspections of the equipment of the Directorate of the Sub-Directorate of Traffic Inspection.
During the inspection, when the test result of 8 people who were driving under the influence of drugs was positive, the driver’s licenses were withdrawn for 5 years, according to the instructions of the prosecutor, and an administrative fine of 6 was imposed 1,333 lire to each driver.
