New coronavirus circular from the Ministry of the Interior

The Ministry of the Interior sent a circular on “Correctly inform contacts” to 81 Provincial Governorates.

The Circular recalled that “Complementation Studies Follow-up Boards” were established in order to ensure that people with a coronavirus diagnosis or contacts who were taken in isolation at home comply with the isolation conditions determined by the Ministry of Health.

With the circulars previously sent to the provinces, the decision to complete the isolation processes of people who violate the isolation conditions or who do not have the opportunity to provide isolation conditions within the Provincial Outbreak Control Centers to ensure that the measures taken in the fight against the epidemic are effectively implemented in the field. It was reminded that it was given.

In the circular, patients who were diagnosed with coronavirus at the current stage gave incomplete information in some cases (such as not giving correct information about contact persons working in the private sector due to financial concerns); In some cases, it was determined that people who were not actually in contact (such as notifying public personnel with contact for different reasons) were reported as contact persons and the following actions were requested:

-Article 206 of the Turkish Penal Code “lies to a public official who has the authority to issue an official document when deciding by the Provincial / District Hygiene Boards of incomplete, misleading or false statements / notifications made by patients diagnosed with coronavirus.” the declarant will be sentenced to imprisonment from three months to two years or a judicial fine. Necessary actions will be taken within the scope of the provision.

– The Governors / District Governors will not cause any interruption in the implementation, and in case of detecting false, incomplete and misleading statements, an administrative action will be taken in accordance with the relevant articles of the General Hygiene Law.

– The necessary legal procedures will be initiated in the area of ​​article 206 of the Turkish Penal Code in relation to acts that constitute a crime.
