Ziya Selçuk, Minister of National Education, made a statement on the new decisions made in the gradual transition to face-to-face education. Minister Selçuk said: “At this stage, those who want to send to school, flexibility will be given to those who don’t. However, students who are not sent to school by their parents will continue their distance education. We will deliver tablets to 500 thousand students who will provide tablets to our students who need them. The tablets will be distributed to our students one by one. ” These are the highlights of Minister Selçuk’s statement:
We are ready to move on to the second stage while we plan the process. There will be flexibility for those who do not want to send the student to school. From the very beginning of the epidemic process, we have been following developments in the world and making our process plans. We followed calls from our parents whose children were in elementary school, preparing for the exam, and had special needs. We have seen the great social function that our schools have. In line with the evaluation of the Ministry of Health and the Scientific Committee, we move on to face-to-face training, taking into account learning losses. Schools began full-time education around the world in all grades and grades. However, we are off to a more gradual start.
On Monday August 31st we rang the first bell of the new school year. We begin face-to-face education with the first grades of elementary school, where we embrace the need for an emotional bond with the school. We are in the third week of face-to-face training in our schools. Since we have taken action, we are ready to move on to the third stage. We will begin face-to-face education with our elementary school 2, 3, 4, 8, 12 and students with special education.
WE WILL SEND THE CHILDREN OF OUR PARENTS WHO WANT TO SCHOOL
We made a plan that face-to-face education and distance education will take place together, and our students will be in school for two days. Upon the beginning of face-to-face education, our parents who want to send their children to school will continue distance education for those who do not and will not be considered absent. The size of our classes will be reduced by dividing us into groups as before. The period of stay in the school will be shortened compared to the past. We will share them with you. At this stage, those who wish will send them to school and flexibility will be given to those who do not wish. However, students who are not sent to school by their parents will continue their education at a distance.
Our inspectors regularly inspect the field. We create Kovid-19 teams in our schools. We are ready to receive our children with health and safety. Initial rates, very low at first, rose to about 80 percent. Our village schools open as primary and secondary schools. When the number available was low, the students moved to the nearest educational center. From now on, regardless of the number of students, these schools will remain open at the request of our parents. There is no central decision here, the changes will vary according to the decisions of the provincial sanitary boards.
TABLET FOR 500 THOUSAND STUDENTS
Our distance education process will continue simultaneously with face-to-face training. All of our broadcasts continue three times a day. Because some of our children can fail. So we repeat it three times a day. Both lectures and classroom applications in other libraries will continue at EBA. We have created 12,111 EBA Support Centers for our students who need support.
It allows our children who have problems with Internet or computer access to benefit from it. This number will gradually increase. Our students can ask their teachers and get to know the closest center. We will deliver tablets to 500 thousand students who will provide tablets to our students in need. There is a distribution strategy. We will act accordingly and the tablets will be distributed to our students one by one.
We determined some criteria such as the educational level of the families, the number of siblings and their special education needs. The process of distributing the devices will be coordinated by the provincial directorates of national education and delivered to students in need by school administrators. These aids will be delivered to our children gradually.
Today our teachers continue their education in a safe and healthy manner. We have hundreds of teachers teaching live on EBA tools, in classrooms, every day. Our teachers mobilized to produce in vocational high schools and public education centers.
