The muezzin, who strangled his wife, who stabbed him in the neck during a fight between them in the Izmit district of Kocaeli, was arrested.
The incident occurred in the morning at a site in the Izmit district of Kocaeli, June 28 district, on Eski Istanbul Street. In the evening an argument broke out between Zülküf Güneş (40), who works as a muezzin in a mosque in Izmit district, and his wife Özlem Güneş (39), who is about to get divorced. The debate that followed turned into a fight.
KILLED HIS WIFE
During the fight, Özlem Güneş stabbed Zülküf Güneş in the neck with the knife he took. The wounded Zülküf Güneş strangled Özlem Güneş to death. Zülküf Güneş, who was injured at home for hours after the incident, admitted that he killed his wife by calling the police teams in the morning. While the murder suspect was detained under his treatment by the police teams that came to the scene, Özlem Güneş’s body was taken to the morgue of Kocaeli State Hospital.
ARRESTED
Zülküf Güneş, who reported the murder, was sent to the Kocaeli court after the security procedures were completed. It was decided that the person who appears before the judge be arrested and sent to prison.
