In March 2019, 6 thousand 630 people died in Istanbul. For March 2020, this figure was 7,281. The difference was only recorded as 651.
While 6,115 people died in April last year, this number increased to 9,164 in April this year with an increase of 2,949.
Looking at the daily death numbers, 399 people died on April 20, when the majority of deaths occurred in April. The number of people who died the same day the previous year was 203.
Since Covid-19 is not written as the cause of death in reports from the hospital, there is no separate information in the report on those killed in the epidemic.
