It was claimed that in the city of Erbil, Iraq, more than one missile hit the area where the camp and airport of the Iran-Kurdistan Democratic Party (IKDP), which opposes the Iranian administration, are located.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), IKDP Presidential Council member Muhammed Salih Kadiri said that several missiles were launched near the IKDP camp located near the airport.
SIREN SOUNDS AFTER THE EXPLOSION
Kadiri claimed that they have no information on whether the missiles’ target is the IKDP camp or the Erbil airport, and that investigations are continuing.
Siren sounds were recorded at the airport after the explosion.
On the other hand, Tasnim, Iran’s semi-official news agency, announced that an explosion occurred at the airport where US soldiers are stationed in Erbil, in its report based on Iraqi sources.
In the report, it was indicated that 3 missiles fell near the airport.
The Iraqi Kurdish regional government has yet to make a statement regarding the explosion.
Iran carried out a missile attack on the said airport in Erbil on January 9, following the assassination of Kasım Süleymani.
