Minister Soylu: We are faced with things like I say ‘what am I going to say?

Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu responded to questions from MPs in the ministry’s budget negotiations at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Soylu took the floor after CHP Group Vice President Engin Altay showed the newspaper reports that a person who tried to commit suicide in Sivas for financial reasons was fined based on the decision of the Provincial Hygiene Board. Minister Soylu recalled that the Sivas Provincial Police announced that it would not be humane to apply fines to this person and that this news did not reflect the truth and said:

“Mr. Altay, look, there is a person named Gergerlioğlu in this House. He uses such lies and misinformation a lot. Please, you have experience in this type of misinformation. Look, this should not be the place where newspapers are talked about. . The topic we are talking about is a human life. But count more also, unfortunately, and something is happening in Turkey in the world. Although the writing on these suicides caused by this newspaper that we cannot say because the people who is left behind gets hurt. We carry hope and within us. But abusers much more. We are all sahibiyiz family. But for those we leave behind, let us not leave the legacy of wrongdoing as a burden on their shoulders for life, let us not this in the hands of this Assembly. We are faced with such things; I put both hands on my leg and say ‘what shall I say’ I say. But those who exploit it abuse it so brutally that we come here. They are forcing us to explain offi what are the events? What if we stop politics here? I also want your help. I also want help from the Assembly. Let’s fight together against those who abuse it. What happens? “
