Michele, President of the EU Council: Our constructive dialogue with Turkey

The President of the Council of the European Union (EU), Charles Michel, will be held on October 1 and 2 in the letter sent to the leaders of member states at the EU summit, Turkey reported that they aimed to create a space for constructive dialogue.

Stating that the main focus of the two-day meeting will be Europe’s place in the world and its ability to shape its own destiny, Michel stated that views will be exchanged with David Sassoli, President of the European Parliament, and that EU-China relations will be discussed in the first session. Stating that they want to work with China to address global challenges such as the new type of corona virus (Covid-19) epidemic and climate change, Michel also stated that they want a more balanced bilateral economic relationship with China.

Michel noted that at the end of the meeting, they will provide information on the ongoing Brexit deal negotiations with the UK.
