After many provinces, some restrictions were placed on weddings, engagement and circumcision weddings in Istanbul. The Istanbul governorate announced the decision.
Member of the Scientific Committee of Coronavirus of the Ministry of Health and Member of the Faculty of Medicine of the Medipol University of Istanbul Prof. Dr. Recep Öztürk made evaluations about the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases and entertainment bans such as weddings and wedding.
Recep Öztürk said the following :,
* At the time when the epidemic scared the whole world, 80 thousand cases in China scared everyone. In fact, China closed it with 83, 84 thousand. Very few cases are currently seen.
* Now, in recent weeks, the world has seen the number of 304 thousand. Currently, there is no country that is not seen in the world, when we look at deaths, we have exceeded the figures of 830 thousand.
* Our country is in a situation where the first wave has not yet withered and fluctuations are seen. We sell between 200 thousand and 500 thousand boxes a day in Turkey.
* In some countries, we see that the first wave has faded and can be called the second wave. This shows that the epidemic continues at full speed in the world.
* Unless there is a big change, this could be a very effective and widespread vaccine or the mutated virus, showing that this virus will continue in 2021.
“THE NEW NORMAL ERA IS NOT COMPLETELY UNDERSTOOD IN OUR COUNTRY”
Highlighting that cases have increased due to citizens’ perception of the new normal period as a normal period and abandoning the measures, Öztürk said:
* The main event, we knew that the closures and bans were effective in controlling the epidemic around the world.
* The same happens in our country. Then we move on to a new normal and controlled social life. The whole world said this too. But this place is not fully understood. At the level of person, society and institution, some perceived the new normal period as the “normal period”.
* And this is a very important segment, not a minority one. And sadly, the breach of the rules caused an increase in cases again in the countries. The same happens in our country. The case, which dropped to 780 in May, increased partial release to 1,500 with the new normal.
* The audit has come out very seriously in recent days. Anyway, when these liberalizations were made, all the officials explained it clearly. If we don’t follow the rules, there was a warning that there could be bans gradually again, but in my opinion this warning was not fully understood and not only the government across the country, but also the pandemic boards of the provinces have very wide powers. .
* Here, depending on the number of cases in each province, decisions must be made at the provincial level, as in the case of 14 provinces. New prohibitions will become mandatory if the rules are not followed. If the conditions are considered mandatory if we do not comply with the rules, the bans can reach not only at the provincial level, but also at the country level.
* This is, of course, at the discretion of the government. We simply say that this type of closure may be necessary from a scientific point of view.
“IT CAN BE EXTENDED TO A WIDE FIELD”
Öztürk continued as follows:
* The ban is not only weddings, weddings, circumcisions, but also extends to a wider area depending on the situation. People themselves must predict this.
* The owner of a wedding can perform the wedding in a much shorter time, in a measured and physical distance, calling the people who absolutely need to call, with fewer people without calling everyone. Visits can be made by communication, by appointment.
