The substances were found to be heroin. In the preliminary analysis performed with the Multiple Drug Test Kit, the samples taken from said packages, the drug warning “OPF” (Heroin) was received.

A heroin warning was also received in testing with a chemical detection device. In sensitive weighing and drug detection; 98 kilograms of 740 grams of heroin were seized in a total of 182 packages.

The market value of the seized drugs has been estimated at approximately 49,372 thousand Turkish liras.

Suspect Veysel Filiz was reminded of his legal rights and detained. The judicial investigation of the incident continues in secret before the Chief Public Ministry.

In his statement to the Prosecutor’s Office, Veysel Filiz affirmed that the drugs did not belong to him, he did not know how they got into his vehicle and that it was a conspiracy.

It emerged that Veysel Filiz, who was arrested, had previously been dismissed from his profession and was investigated for embezzlement while serving at the Brussels Embassy.
