Chairman and Chairman of the AKP Recep Tayyip Erdogan Prof., who was appointed rector of Boğaziçi University and was at the center of discussions as a candidate for deputy of the 1st AKP region in the 2015 elections. Dr. Melih bulu In his statement, he defended the view that “making materials for problems in which the Bosphorus is not a part will be the one that will damage the Bosphorus the most.”

Feather “On the occasion of my appointment as rector of Boğaziçi University, where I spent the best 8 years of my life, I greet you all with affection. At the point that brought me 30 years of experience in both the private sector and non-governmental organizations, I sincerely feel that our country’s goal of being among the world’s top 10, and perhaps the most important component, is high-level education. level. That is why going back to Boğaziçi, one of the main universities in our country, thrills me in everything. In this context, I sincerely thank the President of the Republic and the President of YÖK, who considered me worthy of this duty. ”

In a statement made on his social media account, Bulu said:

I think that after my intense training in management and strategy at Boğaziçi, I found the opportunity to practice in the private sector and gained experience in the processes of department head, dean and rector in different universities, which are good coincidences that prepare me for these days.

In my analysis of the experience I have acquired so far, I would like to share with you some of the issues that must be worked on so that Boğaziçi reaches its rightful place:

1- Our place in the world: when we look at data from THE and QS, the two most effective institutions in international university rankings, we see that Boğaziçi is now outside the top 500. Unfortunately, one of the most important reasons for this is our decline in performance of international broadcasts. My goal is to become the first Turkish university in Boğaziçi in 4 years to enter the top 100 and stay there.

2- Cooperation with the sector: Unfortunately, Bosphorus lost its proximity to the public and private sectors and different universities filled the gap. In this career, I think we should go back to work more actively and take advantage especially by using the ‘network’ of our graduates. In this way, it will be much easier for Boğaziçi students to find jobs and internships, additional income will be provided to our university with completed projects, and real problem areas for academic research will be identified.

3- Entrepreneurship: I think the Bosphorus is not where it deserves in the entrepreneurial ecosystem that has been growing rapidly in our country in recent years. The development of the ecosystem that will commercialize the new knowledge produced not only by our students but also by our teachers will be a topic that I will give importance to in the next 4 years. You can be sure that I will do my best to create an environment that will pave the way for ‘startups’ targeting Boğaziçi.

4-Innovation ecosystem: In my book entitled ‘Urban Knowledge and Innovation Spaces’, which I have edited and published by Routhledge, as someone who knows that the relationship between innovation and space is very important, I care that the spaces of our university are encourage continuous innovation. In reviewing the spaces, I express that I will work to make you feel much happier than being on the Bosphorus when you enter the Bosphorus.

Developing this list with your suggestions and doing it together will be the main points on our agenda in the coming days.

Dear Boğaziçi Family,

“You can always reach me online or on campus”

I have a temperament that likes to touch people. You can always reach me online or on campus. I have a management style that believes that problems can be solved by speaking transparently.

“Making materials for the problems Bosphorus is not a part of will do the most damage to the Bosphorus”

In talking together, I have experienced countless times when the right thing has been accomplished. However, making materials for the problems of the Bosphorus not being a part harms the Bosphorus more.

Let’s not forget that we are all in the same boat. Therefore, I believe that as a university we must oppose all kinds of initiatives that distract us from scientific production, which is our main job.

“I missed drinking tea from the high society canteen, drinking and swimming in the landscape.”

The thrill of homecoming and happily I would like to say that I miss the roast potatoes that I ate in the middle canteen, I drink tea from the high society canteen and drink it in the landscape, and in the meantime I jump on my lap and miss the cats who share everything what i eat Of course, I would like to say that I missed playing basketball in Güney, participating in training with rowers in Uçaksavar and swimming in the open pool until sunset.

On this occasion, all my teachers who have contributed to me as a student from Boğaziçi, especially Güven Alpay, Deniz Gökçe, Muzaffer Bodur, Hayat Kabasakal, Mustafa Diler, Özer Ertuna, Refik Erzan, Ayşe Buğra, Ayşegül Toker, Cem Bahar and Taner Bilgiç Los I respectfully salute “.
