Argentine footballer Lionel Messi, who wanted to leave Barcelona, did not attend the first training session today, after he did not attend the medical check-up in which all the players participated on Sunday. The Spanish sports newspaper Marca pointed out that Messi violated an article of the collective agreement between LaLiga and the Spanish Association of Footballers (AFE) by not participating in training without showing any excuse.
It was written that Messi could be fined for denial or 25 percent of his monthly salary.
On the other hand, in the Spanish press it was reported that Jorge Messi, the Argentine footballer’s father and also his coach, is scheduled to meet with the president of the Barcelona Club, Josep Maria Bartomeu, on Wednesday.
Messi had sent a fax to Club Barcelona on August 25 through his law firm that he wanted to leave the team without paying any fees.

LaLiga agency argues that if Messi unilaterally terminates his contract, he will have to pay a unilateral release fee of 700 million euros.
