Highlights from President Erdogan’s speech:
I greet you with the most heartfelt emotions and longing. I am very happy to be with you on the occasion of this significant program.
With a decision we made last year, we declared November 11 as National Forestry Day. Also last year, our son a better ideal to leave Turkey we planted 11 million seedlings. Our people went to the planting areas and embraced this mobilization with all their hearts. Thus, while we started with the goal of 11 million young trees, we planted 14 million young trees.

They gave explanations that the trees they planted would dry out, but again they failed. Despite those whose hearts go dry with hatred, almost all of the saplings we planted last year are growing and sprouting this year.

Our mobilization to plant saplings is spreading to other countries in waves. Approximately 30 countries support this project. Saplings will soon be planted in 4 sister countries. I would like to express my gratitude to my nation, which regards the planting of saplings as a matter of the country. I congratulate all my friends who contributed to the planting, care and conservation of the young trees.
We are a friendly country with trees and green. We have a tradition that values trees, greenery and animals. We see the traces of this tradition in all aspects of our lives, from our poems to our popular songs, from our stories to our aphorisms.
With the “ Give Seeds to a Sapling ” project, our children, who are the saplings of our future, will have grown 8 saplings during their elementary and middle school years.
7 BILLION SEEDS
Turkey increases its forest assets The decrease of the presence in the forest has been one of the few countries in the world. We began the largest national afforestation campaign in the history of the Republic. We have raised our country to 26th place in terms of forest existence with the afforestation work we have carried out. Our goal is to bring a total of 7 billion saplings to the ground by the end of 2023. Every year, we do not lose the size of an island as a result of erosion. We monitor our forests 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Fire response time reduced from 40 minutes to 12 minutes. I hope we reduce this time to less than 10 minutes.
We continue working without paying attention to the false ecologists in this way that we start with the ideal of a greener and more prosperous country.
