Scandalous images were experienced in the pediatric intensive care unit of the Cebeci Research and Application Hospital, affiliated with the Ankara University School of Medicine. Relatives of the patients attacked health workers and threatened to kill them. Health workers who wanted to protect themselves erected a “barricade” in front of the door.
Similar to the attack on health professionals at the Keçiören Research and Training Hospital in Ankara, the Cebeci Hospital of the Ankara University Faculty of Medicine took place last night. Relatives of the patient, who was transferred to the Pediatric Intensive Care Service as a result of his accident, tried to attack the health personnel for unknown reasons.
Health workers also cared for themselves by putting medical devices behind them so as not to open the intensive care door.
MINISTER KOCA: WILL ANSWER IN COURT
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca reacted to the violence against health workers.
In making a post on his social media account, Minister Koca stated:
“A new violence against health professionals occurred last night at the Cebeci Hospital of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ankara. The aggressors were relatives of a patient who was transferred to the Pediatric Intensive Care Service. They will be held accountable in court. But they won’t have an answer for their children. “
