Aliyev delivered a speech to the nation and announced that the Fuzuli city center and the villages of Koçahmetli, Çimen, Cuvarlı, Pirahmetli, Musabeyli, Işıklı, and Dedeli were liberated from the invasion of Armenia.

Underlining that Azerbaijan will stand firm against the Armenian attacks, Azerbaijani President Aliyev said: “These vicious movements will not break the will of the Azerbaijani people” regarding the Armenian attack on civilians in Azerbaijan.

Saying: “We will never attack civilians,” Aliyev claimed that they would respond to Armenia on the battlefield.

The Azerbaijani army had previously cleared some of the Fuzuli villages from the Armenian forces in the operation to save their lands.

Fuzuli city center and most of its villages were occupied by the Armenian army in 1993.

Before the occupation 144 thousand Azerbaijanis lived in Fuzuli, whose land is 1,386 square kilometers.

It is known that the Fuzuli province gave more than 1100 martyrs against the Armenian forces in the 1990s. Approximately 1500 Fuzul people were injured in the attacks by the Armenian forces, 155 children lost their parents.

Only 20 villages in Fuzuli province, which consisted of the city center, 1 city and 75 villages, were not occupied.
