Zeki Ergezen, one of the founders of the AK Party, who served as Minister of Public Works and Settlements in governments 58 and 59, died of multiple organ failure related to cancer. A ceremony was held in Parliament for Ergezen, who was a Bitlis deputy for terms 19, 20, 21 and 22.

The ceremony was attended by Vice President Fuat Oktay, Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, Minister of Internal Affairs Süleyman Soylu, former President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, AK İzmir party, MP Binali Yıldırım, the party president DEVA, Ali Babacan, old and new deputies and relatives of Ergezen. His grandchildren brought Ergezen’s photograph to the ceremony.

After the ceremony held in Parliament, Zeki Ergezen was taken to the Hacı Bayram Veli Mosque for his funeral prayer.

FUNERAL PRAYER PERFORMED

Following the ceremony held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for former Minister of Public Works and Settlements Zeki Ergezen, a funeral prayer was held at the Hacı Bayram Veli Mosque. Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, Justice Minister Adbulhamit Gül, Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin, former Assembly Presidents Binali Yıldırım and İsmail Kahraman, former ministers and members of parliament attended the funeral ceremony. After the funeral prayer held after the noon prayer, Zeki Ergezen’s funeral was brought to the Ahlat district of his hometown, Bitlis, to be buried.
