Vodafone’s Istanbul Half Marathon, considered one of the 8 best half marathons in the world, will be held for the fifteenth time tomorrow.
On the 21-kilometer track on the historic peninsula, runners will start from the Yenikapı activity area, continue from Kumkapı, Sarayburnu, Sirkeci and run towards Eminönü, Unkapanı, Fener, Balat, Ayvansaray and Feshane. With the turn before the Eyüp intersection (from the end of the Feshane building), the athletes will reach the finish line at the starting point, the Yenikapı activity area.
The number of participants in the marathon organized by Spor Istanbul, a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, will be limited to 2,500 people.
The time limit for the half marathon, which will start with the departure of the elite athletes at 08:45, has been set at 4 hours.
Those who want to participate in the Istanbul Vodafone Half Marathon will compete in one of two options. A limited number of athletes, as well as 21 kilometers of running trails on the Historic Peninsula, Turkey’s first virtual half marathon to choose their own route, will have the opportunity to run alone from wherever they want.
