The court board postponed the hearing until January 28, 2021 to obtain a report from the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Center in order to determine whether the defendant’s mental health is in good condition and to fill in the deficiencies in the record.
In making a statement in front of the court after the hearing, the Şenpınar family’s lawyer, the president of the Muğla Bar Association, Cumhur Uzun, said that his words that the defendant did not remember what happened were not credible.
Family lawyer Haydar İkizer claimed that the defendant killed Şenpınar with 37 knife blows.
After the hearing, the Vice President of the CHP, Ali Öztunç, stated that the defendant had forgotten about those who did not come to work and said they would continue the case.
Zeynep Şenpınar’s family and friends, who wanted to follow the case, and many members of women’s associations also went to court.

In the argument between Zeynep Şenpınar and Selim Ahmet Kemaloğlu, who is allegedly her boyfriend, in the Kötekli district of Menteşe district, the young woman, who was injured with a knife, died on May 24.
Kemaloğlu, who had an injured cutting tool on his body, was treated at the hospital. The suspect, who was sent to court after being treated for a time, was arrested.
