Türk-İş President General Ergün Atalay said: “The employer and the government should not make an offer below 3 thousand TL regarding the minimum wage. Because an offer below 3,000 lira is not an offer that will make people happy, it is not an offer that will make employees happy. An offer of more than 3,000 lira must be made to the Minimum Wage Determination Commission ”.
The Minimum Wage Commission will hold its fourth and last meeting tomorrow at 10.30 am. The minimum wage that will apply in 2021 is expected to be announced tomorrow.
TURKSTAT HAS ANNOUNCED THE FIGURES
TurkStat determined the amount of minimum monthly life of a single employee, which is taken into account in the calculation of the minimum wage, as 2,339 for light jobs, 2,507 for medium jobs and 2,792 for heavy jobs. According to TURKSTAT, the cost of living of a worker in heavy situation increased by 19.77 percent annually.
HOW IS THE MINIMUM WAGE DETERMINED?
The Minimum Wage Determination Commission, made up of 15 people, determines the minimum wage. In the commission, the worker, the employer and the state wing are represented by 5 people.
The first meeting of the talks takes place at the Ministry. After two meetings organized by workers and employers, the fourth and last meeting is again organized by the Ministry.
