According to preliminary findings, a mosque and 10 houses were burned in the fire that broke out in the village of Kastamonu in Tepeharman. The firefighters continue to extinguish. Kastamonu Governor Avni Çakır, who came to the region to conduct investigations, said the fire was under control.
The 14-digit village of Tepeharman, 54 kilometers from the center of Kastamonu city, surrendered to the flames. According to initial determinations, a fire broke out from the electrical contact in the house belonging to Satı Hebipoğlu in the village at night. The flames that grew with the effect of the wind spread to the surrounding houses in no time.
Following the warning, many firefighters were dispatched to the village. The flames that lit up the sky were seen from miles away. Firefighters continue to put out the fire, in which 1 mosque and 10 houses were damaged.
GOVERNOR ÇAKIR: FIRE UNDER CONTROL
The governor of Kastamonu, Avni Çakır, came to the village and received information about the fire. Stating that the fire was determined to have come out of electrical contact, Çakır said: “In a short time, the fire spread to other houses, our extinguishing equipment, such as the forest and the fire department, unfortunately, spread to the roofs out of 10 houses and mosques until they were moved here. As of now, 10 of our houses have completely burned down, “he said.
Emphasizing that his greatest consolation is that there is no loss of life, Çakır said:
“Thank God we have no loss of life. 5 of the burning houses were empty. 5 of our citizens were residing. First, we installed our resident citizens with their families. There are no complaints at the moment. Starting tomorrow in the morning, both the animals and themselves. We plan the appropriate areas they will use until new residences are built. We allocate unused public buildings. We will allocate our school and glass for a certain period of time. As a state, we will heal the wounds of our citizens as soon as possible.
Çakır noted that the fire was under control.
