After the death of Mayor Mehmet Abdi Bulut, the Kilis City Council met to elect the new president.
The councilor and deputy mayor of the AK Party, Servet Ramazan, who stood in the elections as the only candidate, was elected the new president with the votes of the members of the Assembly.
In his speech, Servet Ramazan wished God’s mercy on the late Mehmet Abdi Bulut.
Thanking President Recep Tayip Erdogan, who deemed him worthy of the position of mayor, Ramazan said:
“I hope that we will work day and night to be worthy of my personal trust during my tenure. I will carry the trust of our esteemed President Bulut with great care. We will complete our projects together. I hope that all the people of Kilis do not skimp on their support and prayers.” .
Kilis Mayor Mehmet Abdi Bulut, 53, who had been treated in the Intensive Care Unit of the Şahinbey Research and Applications Hospital of Gaziantep University for a time, passed away on 12 October despite the interventions.
