As part of the investigation carried out by the Izmir Prosecutor General’s Office into the structuring of FETÖ within the Turkish Armed Forces, an investigation was launched to capture 82 suspects, 70 of whom were active sergeants, who allegedly had interviewed the executives of the terrorist organization, who were described as “intimate magnets” of the organization through public telephones or buffet telephones.
63 suspects were arrested in a simultaneous operation carried out by police and gendarmerie teams in 39 provinces based in Izmir. It was learned that 60 of the suspects worked in the Gendarmerie General Command, 16 in the Land Forces Command, 5 in the Air Force Command and 1 in the Naval Forces Command.
In addition, as a result of the joint work carried out with the Izmir General Prosecutor’s Office and the Air and Land Force Commands on the basis of the data exchange, a total of 848 military personnel, including high-ranking officers such as colonels, lieutenants and majors, who they were found affiliated to the FETO, they were sent to the relevant commanders to start the expulsion process. An arrest warrant was issued for 44 former police officers who were found to be in contact with so-called “intimate imams” of FETÖ by the İzmir Prosecutor General’s Office.

41 of the suspects were captured in a simultaneous operation organized in Izmir, Istanbul, Amasya, Denizli, Balıkesir and Afyonkarahisar by the Anti-Organized Crime Section of the Izmir Police Department.

BYLOCK OPERATION IN ANKARA
In the capital, 12 suspects who turned out to be ByLock users and who had a repentance / diagnosis of activity in the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) were arrested.
According to the information received, the teams of the Antiterrorist Branch of the Provincial Security Directorate carried out an operation against 20 members of the organization who were determined to be users of ByLock, FETÖ’s encrypted communication program.
In the operation, 12 suspects were detained, efforts continue to arrest 8 people.
