A group of students from the Ege University School of Dentistry, their professor Prof. Dr. Claiming that they were subjected to verbal and actual harassment by ZAB, submitted a request to the school administration in December 2019. The Commission of inquiry that was established had also begun to investigate the complaints. After months, when no result could be reached, the students rebelled against the situation on social media and then went to the Izmir Chamber of Dentists, of which the accused professor was also a member.

Exactly one year after the harassment allegations were reported to the school administration, the students went to the prosecutor’s office last week and filed a complaint. The investigation file at the school was sent to the prosecution. The statements of the students told the police what they experienced this time. Some of the victims, who were seniors at the time of the harassment and now work as dentists, are Prof. Dr. He also sent screenshots of likes made on ‘sexually explicit videos’ from the social media account supposedly owned by ZAB.

One of the complaining students told Hürriyet: “We have seen that we can no longer obtain a result of the investigation at the school. It has not been possible to take a step forward for a year. There was even a rumor about me saying ‘They are slandering to pass a lesson’. Now our school is finished. Anyway, we didn’t have to worry about getting through school. We will follow the process. We do not want the name of our school to come up with such events. But sadly it happened. We don’t want that person to work in a school and train students. Our school has done nothing, but we believe that justice will do what is necessary. “

Another whistleblower said: “We went to the statement with some of my friends. We tell what happened to us. Our friends who lived in other cities after graduation also participated in the process. The research process at the school was now very long. Anyway, no progress has been made. The professor dean also made a great effort. We have already given up hope of research at school. We were confident that we would get support from there. But everyone was throwing the ball at each other. They handed it out like gum. We encountered very disturbing attitudes even while making statements. As we talked about what happened, some of the teachers who listened to us said, “Did you feel sexual desire in this situation?” They asked silly questions like. There were friends who were afraid of their families. But now that we have applied, we will continue how the process will be. “
