Defendant ST, who was caught red-handed by police teams after following a young woman on Istanbul’s Taksim Istiklal Street, was tried for ‘simple sexual assault’ and ‘sexual harassment’, with a lawsuit of up to 13 years in prison.
According to the İHA news, while the detained defendant was connected to the hearing at the Istanbul Criminal Court through ST SEGBİS, the author Ö.K. I do not participate.
In his defense, defendant ST, who said he went to Beyoğlu on the day of the incident, said: “I saw the complainant, his eyes were bad and he seemed to fall. He had headphones in his ear and he sat next to her so he couldn’t hear.
I had no contact with the complainant. I sat down next to him. We got off together at the Taksim subway stop. The plaintiff appeared to fall. I walked beside you.
When he removed the headphones from the last place he sat, I asked him if he was okay. I did not have any physical contact. I am not guilty, I demand my release and absolution ”.
The court adjourned the hearing by deciding that plaintiff Ö.K. he will be heard at the next hearing and the detention of the accused will continue.
