Yerlikaya pointed out that if there were no fire in the Vaniköy Mosque, the restoration work would start soon, Yerlikaya said: “In this context, for the restoration work, our 2nd Regional Directorate of the General Directorate of Foundations signed a contract on February 7 of 2019, on October 25, 2019, the recognition and restitution projects, It was sent to the Istanbul Regional Conservation Board No. 6. In addition, the Vaniköy Mosque Restoration Project was submitted to the Zoning Directorate of Boğaziçi on October 10, 2019. Therefore, all the work for the restoration of the mosque was nearing completion. It was reported in November 2020. However, after this fire, there is a new situation.
