The Ministry of the Interior sent a circular on “Street, Boulevard, Square Measurements” to 81 Provincial Governors.
In the Circular it was recalled that it was decided to apply the curfew on weekends from 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020 until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021, including this weekend.
In the Circular; It was indicated that the security measures that will be taken and the precautions that will be taken before and after New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Eve and afterwards were determined and communicated to the governments. In this context, it was noted that in order not to disrupt the fight against the Kovid 19 epidemic, it was also noted that the instructions should not be allowed to celebrate New Year’s Eve, which would cause crowds to gather uncontrollably.
In the Circular, in an environment where many measures are applied to guarantee social isolation; tourist in Turkey within the temporary scope of activities and therefore emphasized that the actions of exempting foreign tourists from the curfew restrictions of the epidemic were extended by the shading of the success achieved in the reduction and quite important in terms of cause weakness of perception in the fight against the epidemic.
In this context, from 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 1, 2021; The streets, boulevards or squares with symbolic characteristics in the provincial and district centers, identified with cities or known as celebration / gathering areas (such as İstiklal Caddesi and Sultanahmet Square in Istanbul, July 15 Kızılay National Will Square in Ankara , Gündoğdu Square in İzmir) All entrances, including tourists, will be restricted.
Public notifications about restrictions will be made on time and physical security measures will be taken to prevent people from entering these places during the restriction period.
During the limited period on the specified streets, boulevards or squares, events where foreign tourists can gather will not be allowed.
