A natural gas leak occurred in the Fevzi Çakmak district around 10:00 yesterday because a bucket damaged the pipeline during the infrastructure works carried out by the Uşak municipality. Then, Uşak Doğalgaz A.Ş. (UDAŞ) the teams cut off the gas flow in the region and began working to repair the pipe that exploded. After the repair work, gas was started in the area in part from the hours of the night.
At around 2:00 pm an explosion occurred due to gas compression in the combi boilers on the 1st floor of the 2 apartments at Atatürk Mahallesi 2nd Şeker Sokak and 6th Yunus Emre Street, some 500 meters away. In a loud explosion, the neighborhood panicked and took to the streets. Upon returning to the battlefield, the surrounding buildings were damaged and their windows were smashed.
