The highlights of Interior Minister Soylu’s speech are as follows:

“I would like to thank my friends of the Minister and the officials of our institution for showing their sensitivity in seeing it as a disaster awareness meeting.

We saw what could happen after the disaster and took our steps accordingly. We are trying to make our initiatives very fast together in this regard.

Four and a half years ago the disaster was not affiliated with the ministry.

We have to establish a connection from one beginning to another in our country.

COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK IN 81 PROVINCES

In the event of a disaster or a risk that could encompass our entire country, we are obliged to establish a model that can provide the same communication from the beginning of our country. Yes, TSK has a model. But we think we should support this with an alternative. We have applied to many institutions. Our police, gendarmerie and coast guard have radios. Their infrastructure and software codes are different from each other. It is not possible for them to talk to each other.

We have worked hard for 3-4 years. They all did the best they could, but we got no results. The gendarmerie and the police had separate wireless systems. We established Emergency Security Centers in 81 provinces, they responded to us after a certain time.

I am happy to achieve an impossible. The so-called uncomfortable softwares were combined. Upon establishment, each institution was established by determining a separate priority.

As of yesterday, our friends created the system in Ağrı that we can access directly from here.

‘Connect two radios to each other …’ That system was a primitive system … Thank God the system has been developed with which we can talk to each other.

DISASTER REQUEST

The disaster is happening, everyone goes out into the street, holding onto the phones. Phones are blocked, roads are blocked. I would like to express that we have experienced this in every earthquake in 2020. We sat down with our Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure for a system that we can communicate together on this issue. We meet with the operators. This gave us something else. We are making a new application in which our operators and ministries participate. What will happen in this application will be downloaded again on smartphones.

There will be practical knowledge needed during and after the disaster. We have 26 + 1 groups related to our meeting and accommodation areas. We did more than 500 hours of work in Istanbul in these working groups. Why do we cling to Istanbul so much? Let’s not rediscover the United States. Whatever we do here, we can do it elsewhere.

” WE HAVE INCREASED THE MEETING AREA TO MORE THAN 5,400 IN ISTANBUL ”

The work we have done learning and updating … We increased the meeting area from 2900 in 2-3 months to more than 5400 in Istanbul. The meeting area per person was 1.29 square meters, now we have increased it to 2.85 square meters. We are trying to jump even higher. Newly purchased phones will be sold with this app installed.

A phone will take the person to the meeting area. We can get it through brochures in each apartment. Calls with an emergency code will be available from this application. Important progress has been made after 1999. We have the second largest earthquake monitoring network in Europe. We are doing exercises.

” KNOWLEDGE ABOUT LIFE SCIENCE EQUALITY DISASTERS ”

We must raise awareness about disasters. Knowledge of disasters is equal to knowledge of life. We set 2021 as the disaster school year and we are trying to reach 51 million people as much as possible.

Each of our Ministries has extraordinary duties. During the earthquake, not only our citizens, but all our state institutions mobilized to heal the wound.
