An explosion occurred at the international airport in Aden, Yemen. The incident occurred when the new government, including Yemen’s Prime Minister Muin Abdulmalik, was entering the country, among members of the Saudi Arabian government.
The governor of Aden shared the information that the incident occurred as a result of the explosion of three mortar shells and 16 people were killed and 65 injured.
Government officials were quickly evacuated from the region after the incident. According to the Reuters news agency, another explosion was heard around the Presidential Palace, where government officials who survived the attack at the airport were evacuated.
