Erol Işık, brother of the murdered İsmet Işık, asked for a ‘Certificate of Martyrdom’ for his brother and said:
“We live with this pain. We said destiny, we said nothing to do. After the news we received after 19 years, we do not want to experience pain again. According to the news that the Force Command gave us, we will first bury him in the normal cemetery, then after the martyrdom occurs, he will be removed from the normal cemetery and buried in martyrdom. My brother was doing military service like all Turkish children. My brother did not go to play marbles. He went to do his duty and was a canteen. He fought so that our state’s money was not stolen. He became a target of state money and was assassinated. Now what is this but martyrdom? We demand the help of our state elders in this regard. We ask that martyrdom be transmitted to us and buried where it should be, martyrdom. We also move our request to the necessary places on the subject. ”
Erol Işık said that he named his son İsmet to keep his brother alive.
