Three separate attacks earlier in the day there was opposition to the name in Turkey. KRT television programmer Afşin Hatipoğlu, future party vice president Selçuk Özdağ and Yeniçağ newspaper Ankara representative Orhan Ugüroğlu were targeted by unidentified groups.
Ankara representative of the Yeniçağ newspaper, Orhan Ugüroğlu, who was attacked in front of his home, stated that in his article entitled “I thank President Erdoğan”, communications director Fahrettin Altun conveyed the message of AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and thanked to Erdoğan.
