Rescue work was started on buildings destroyed by the earthquake in Izmir. After the earthquake, 5 people were rescued under the landslide.
Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger explained in a statement later that the number of rescued citizens was 70. Search and rescue efforts are continuing in 12 destroyed and damaged buildings.
The 6.6 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Izmir was felt in many cities, especially Istanbul, and rescue work was started for citizens who were under the rubble of collapsed buildings after the earthquake. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer said they received nearly 20 demolition notices after the earthquake.

Umut Demir, 17, was one of the citizens who were buried under the rubble of buildings damaged by the earthquake in the Bayraklı district. Umut Demir, who fell asleep in the earthquake, was rescued from the rubble of a multi-story building. Those moments were reflected on the cameras.
The AFAD, the municipality, the fire brigade and 112 emergency teams headed to the Bayraklı district, where the destruction was said. 4 people were injured by the remains of the 7-story building that was destroyed by the 1593 earthquake in Sokak in the Bayraklı district. GOVERNOR KÖŞGER: 70 PEOPLE WERE SAVED
Izmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger stated that around 70 people were rescued from the rubble of the earthquake.
On the other hand, a 28-year-old person was rescued from the remains of the building at 258 Sokak in the Bayraklı district.

CLAIM 20 PEOPLE EXECUTED IN THE MARKET
The lower 3 floors of an 11-story building collapsed in Bayraklı, the district hardest hit by the earthquake. The employees of the monopoly merchant on the ground floor of the building jumped in and saved their lives. However, it was claimed that employees and some customers were stuck in the chain store branch next door. It was said that 20 people were stranded in the market, AFAD and firefighters were dispatched to the region upon receiving the notice. The teams began search and rescue work on the building.
THERE WERE INJURIES AS A RESULT OF JUMPING FROM HIGH
Some citizens were reported to have been injured as a result of panic and jumping from on high during the earthquake. Citizens rescued from the rubble were taken to the surrounding hospitals and treated.
