Fethi Sekin, who broke the terrorists’ treacherous plan by revealing his life in the attack on the Izmir Palace of Justice by PKK terrorists, is commemorated on the fourth anniversary of his martyrdom.

WHO IS FETHI SEKIN?
Stopping the terrorists from carrying out their treacherous plan with courage the conquest Sekin was born in 1973 in the village of Doğancık in the Baskil district of Elazig.
After graduating from Samsun 19 Mayıs Police Vocational School in 1995, Sekin’s first place of duty was Kilis.
Sekin was made a member of Bingöl in 1999. Sekin, who worked at Bingöl for three years, was assigned to Izmir in 2002. Fethi Sekin worked for the Motorcycle Sahinler Team for about 9 years in Izmir, where he showed great heroism.

On January 5, 2017, Sekin averted potential disaster, thanks to his experience in his profession and care during his assignment.
Suspecting that the car was headed for Gate C of the Izmir Courthouse, Sekin stopped the vehicle. Noticing the armed terrorists in the vehicle, Sekin drew his weapon and fearlessly intervened. The terrorists exiting the vehicle detonated the bomb next to them.

Sekin neutralized one of the two terrorists he was pursuing and fought until his bullet ran out to catch the other. The police hero was martyred in front of the courthouse where he was serving as a result of fire opened by a terrorist hiding behind a vehicle.
Sekin avoided the treacherous attack by repelling the terrorists with 2 Kalashnikovs, RPG-7 rocket launchers and 8 ammunition, grenades. Married and father of 3 children, Fethi Sekin saved the lives of many people with his heroism.

WOLF THRONE IN VOLUNTEERS
Police officer Fethi Sekin and the Musa Can court staff were martyred in the attack and 9 people were injured, including 3 lawyers, 2 police officers, 2 bailiffs and 2 civilians. Two terrorists who carried out the attack were neutralized at the scene.
Fethi Sekin, the symbol of heroism, established a throne in hearts.
THE IZMIR PEOPLE GIVEN A MESSAGE OF UNITY AGAINST TERROR
The people of Izmir, who went to court after the treacherous attack, delivered a message of unity against terror with Turkish flags. The name of Islam Kerimov Street, where the attack and confrontation took place in front of the courthouse, was changed to Martyr Polis Fethi Sekin.

MANY PLACES WERE NAMED
Many places across the country were named after the martyred police, hence the name Fethi Sekin was immortalized.
Many sports organizations throughout Turkey commemorate Fethi Seki. Some moms and dads give their newborn children to be brave like him “Fethi Sekin” gave his name.
Named after the city hospital in his hometown Elazig and a school in Izmir, Sekin’s name lives on in many places, from streets to parks, schools and libraries.
