In the statement made by the Istanbul Chamber of Artisans of Bakers and Bread Sellers, it was noted that during inspections conducted by the Istanbul Governorate, it was found that bakers in some districts of Istanbul were selling bread at unofficial rates.

In the statement, the official price list approved by the Union of Chambers of Merchants and Artisans of Istanbul in force dated October 16, 2020 was shared and the following was recorded:
“The normal price per kilogram of bread has been determined at 7.50 TL.
200 grams of bread were approved at TL 1.50, 250 grams of bread at TL 1.87 and 270 grams of bread at TL 2.00. Apart from that, the claim that the Istanbul Chamber of Bakers prepared another tariff and manipulated the prices of bread in Istanbul is completely unfounded. “
